Quote from Ma Aye Swe 28-years old (woman in water playing with her son)
from the village of Makyin Mying, Bogale
"the village has 200 people now but before the cyclone we had around 500, the lucky ones tied themselves to the trees, I had to hold my son Ko in one arm and I held onto a tree with the other while the winds blew and the flood water washed us around violently , i was really scared of losing my son , we were really cold and in the morning when the flood water dropped people were dying all around or had already been killed. We did not receive any help for 10 days then some businessmen gave us instant noodles and rice and some clothes and then we were given some more food ten days after that. We lost 100 Oxen so we cannot farm, when the wind blows the children get very frightened the school was destroyed and now the children just sit around and do nothing"
